Service business website guide

Is a one-page website right for your service business?

A one-page site is useful when one clear message can guide a visitor from “What do you do?” to “How do I contact you?” It is not a smaller version of every possible website.

It may be the right fit if…

It may be the wrong fit if…

What should go on the page?

  1. A plain-English first screen: service, intended customer, and a clear next step.
  2. Useful detail: what you do, service area, process, and what makes the offer appropriate.
  3. Evidence you can substantiate: qualifications, real work, policies, or genuine reviews where available. Do not invent testimonials.
  4. Common questions: answer likely objections about scope, timing, price, or preparation.
  5. A consistent contact action: phone, email, form, or your existing booking link.

What should you prepare before a build?

Have your business name, service description, service area, preferred contact or booking destination, brand assets, and images you have the right to use. Decide who will approve the copy and provide domain access. Better inputs shorten revisions more reliably than rushing design.

What happens after launch?

Check that the contact route works, keep business details current, and share the page where customers already look for you. A website is a destination for referrals and promotion; it does not automatically create traffic or guarantee sales. For price and scope, see our Toronto website cost guide.
